Budget Control Rules per GLA


  1. The Cost Centre and Account of a GLA has both budget control indicators.

Cost Centre {FCSO-1}:
Has a Type of Budget Control indicator that is define in option {FCSC-8}.
For each Budget Code in {FCSC-8} the user/client must link Account Category ranges in
option {FCSM-7} and has the following rules.
More than one range can be link to a Budget Code.
The Account Category range 0 (zero) to 0 (zero) meant no budget control
on account categories.

Account {FCSO-3}:
Has a Account Category and “Must Budget control be done on the Account” indicator. 
This indicator can have one of the following values:
No
Category
Account


  1. Budget Control 

If the system operational parameter BA of subsystem CS is set to Y (Yes) {FCSM-1 b2}
then the system will do budget control using the following rules.
If Account “Must Budget control be done on the Account”
 Account Budget Indicator = No
No budget control is done
 Account Budget Indicator = Account
Budget control is done on the GLA only.
 Account Budget Indicator = Category
The account’s Account Category is:
Inside the Cost Centre Type of Control Account Category Range
Budget control is done on the total value of all accounts, of the cost centre, with an account category
 in the cost centre type of budget control account category range.
Take note that:  all other accounts in that account category range, irrespective of what the account
 budget indicator is set to, will be taken into consideration


Outside the Cost Centre Type of Control Account Category Range
Budget control is done on the total value of all accounts, of the cost centre, with the same account category
 and the account budget indicator is equal to category.
