Magisterial Districts (Postal Code) {GCS2-2}

These codes are used to validate all postal codes when they are entered anywhere in the system.

Description
Postal Code A4  The valid postal codes as supplied by the Post Office.
Town  A30 The name of the Post Office is entered in this field.  A booklet of valid Postal Codes and Names can be obtained from the Post Office.
Magisterial District A4 The name of the magisterial district is displayed when this code is entered. These codes are taken from SAPSE 005.
Statistical Region N2 As defined by SAPSE.
Indicator A1 Is this postal code used for (S)treet or (B)ox codes? This is a non-mandatory field.
Print A1 Print this postal code (Y)es or (N)o on documentation. Often used for students living outside the borders of South Africa.
Please note that the three-character codes for "Non-South-African" Countries as used for Statistical reporting are used as the Postal Codes in addresses.

Whenever addresses are printed by the system, as for instance under menu SLLL, any three-character codes will not be printed.
 
ITS supplies an initial list of records under this option. The user must update and add records as new postal codes are created.

Note that more than one name may apply to a single postal code and that all of the names can be entered here.
