Create File For First Destination Returns  {HEA-7}

Students who graduate and leave the institution are asked to fill in a survey questionnaire.  This option creates an ASCII file according the specific fixed format required by the survey.  This is called the First Destination Returns.

The ASCII (flat file) contains the following information about each student:

An ASCII file will be created with the filename and directory path supplied as input parameter.  The report will, however, also give an output file, listing information about the number of students selected, as well as the number of validation errors encountered while creating the file.  Note that these errors affect the correctness of the file and the user is therefore encouraged to study them carefully.  If the file contains many errors, the user should correct the errors and then recreate the file.

All graduates of the institution are included.  According to the selection parameter, a student will count as a Graduate (FDR indicator = ‘Y’) either if his/her graduation record carried the Academic Year of the selection parameter or if the Decision Date falls within 1 January and 31 December of the given Academic Year.
