Update Replacement Values {LCAM-2}


This option is used for the annual updating of replacement values and can be used to calculate the fee for a lost item. The user can either update the value of a single item at a time or collectively update all the values of a certain media type.

The year of the last update of an item is displayed in the item record.


Fields in the option:

Block 1:  Updating a single item

Item Number N8 Enter the appropriate item number.
Title The title will be displayed.
Inventory Value Inventory value will be displayed.
Replacement Value N15.2 The new replacement value can be entered.

Block 2:  All items of a media type


Field Type

Media Type Code A6 When the appropriate media type is entered, its name and the following statistics will be displayed:
  • the lowest inventory value for this media type on the system
  • the highest inventory value on the system
  • the lowest replacement value
  • the highest replacement value
  • the number of items of this media type on the system
  • the average replacement value of all the items of this media type.
Percentage Change N2.2 These figures are given to assist the user in determining a suitable percentage adjustment to all the replacement values in the inventory.  This percentage is entered in the next field. Both positive and negative percentages can be entered to two decimal places, e.g. -12.23.
