Maintain System Parameters {MEBM-1}

This option displays the Budget Parameter Set Definitions that are available in the Expense Budget Module.
The program Start New Budget Parameter Set {MEBM-2} creates the parameter sets according to the selection criteria entered by the user. Only two fields are updateable provided the Date Posted To GL is null.

Block 2 is only available if the Budget Parameter Set is defined as a Revised budget. The block displays the Previous Parameter Sets that were consolidated into the Revised Budget the user is currently working on.

Fields in the option:

Block 1: Approved Budget

Field	Type & Length	Description
Parameter Set Code	A4	A unique alphanumeric code to identify the Budget Parameter Set. The user cannot update this field.
Description	A30	Describe the content of the Budget Parameter Set. Field is updateable as long as field Date Post To GL is null.
Requested Budget Due Date	DD-MON-YYYY	In a decentralised work environment every department must input its own requested budget with option {MEBO-3}. This parameter then limits the date up to which departments can change their requested budgets. Option {MEBO-3} will not accept any input after this date. The user may update this field as long as field Date Post To GL is null.
Budget Year	YYYY	The year for which the user wants to do a budget. The user cannot update this field.
Budget Cycle	N2	The cycle for which the user wants to do a budget. It only applies to Budget Period Monthly. The system does not use this field in any way if Budget Period Yearly. The user may update this field if Budget Period Yearly.
Date Posted To GL	DD-MON-YYYY	The date on which the Budget Parameter Set Approved Values was posted to GL. This value will be set by option {MEBO-6} and will be removed by option {MEBM-5} if the GL transaction of the Budget Parameter Set is deleted from GL. The user cannot update this field.
Type of Budget	A1	Primary Budget is the original budget for a budget period. Revised Budget is the redo of a Primary/Revised. Budget. Revised Budget can consist of multiple Primary and/or Revised Budget Parameter Sets. The system allows multiple primary and revised budgets set for a budget period. Examples of this practice are Capital Budget,Supplies and Service Budget, Specific Research Fund Budget, Ad Hoc Funds Receive Budget, etc. The user cannot update this field.
Budget Period Yearly or Monthly	A1	Yearly: The budget includes all 12 cycles for the budget year under one parameter set. Monthly: The budget consists of a cycle of a budget year under a parameter set. The user cannot update this field.
Can items on the approved budget be deleted after due date	A1	If (Y)es is selected, items on the approved budget, {MEBO-4} can be deleted after the requested budget due date. The user cannot update this field.
Do you want to process account categories 310-329 in this module	A1	If (Y)es is selected, budgets can be processed for accounts within the abovementioned salary categories. If (N)o is selected, accounts between the salary categories 310-329 will be excluded from the budget parameter set. The user cannot update this field.
Number Of Months To Be Used For Linear Budget Forecast: Will only be used if Budget period is Monthly	N3	The Number Of Months To Be Used For Linear Budget Forecast if the budget period is monthly.The user cannot update this field.
Year To Date Information For Reporting Purpose: Will only be used if Yearly		Year to Date Information consists of Year (N4) Cycle (N2) Cycle 13 In/Excluded Cycle 14 In/Excluded The user cannot update this field

Block 2: Revised Budget Previous Parameter Sets

Revised Budget can be built from multiple Primary and/or Revised Budget Parameter Sets. This block displays the parameter set codes that the Revised Budget was built from. The user is not allowed to use a parameter set that was used in a previous parameter set in a parameter set.
