Prompting of Report Parameters
Background
In previous versions of the software, there was no way to get the
description of a particular code that was entered when supplying
parameters for a report. There was also the constraint of only
having 15 parameters per page before moving onto the next tab
page. The screen layout was also designed to fit into an 800x600
pixel environment.
Current Situation
What we have done is the following:
1. The screen has been redesigned to be much larger, thereby fitting in more prompts onto the page.
2. All prompts are now on one large scrolling display.
3. If you enter a code into a field for which there
is an LOV, the description for that code will be displayed next to it.
Demonstration #1
Purpose: To show the user how prompts are entered.
Execution
1. Using the Quick Menu, go to option {SACADR-2} Qualification Report.
2. Enter parameters:
a. 2006
b. 1
c. 1
d. ALL
3. For the parameters highlighted in light blue, the
code descriptions should be displayed on the right of the field.
Example:
Demonstration #2
Purpose: To show how the screen scrolls with a large number of parameters.
Execution
1. Go to option {SSTURL-1} Print Class Lists
2. For the parameters, enter "2006" as the Academic Year and default the rest.
3. Once the screen starts to scroll, use the scroll bar to show previously entered prompts.
