Update Data in SDR Table {RSDR-3}

This program is intended to be used with {RSDR-2}, since the record that was created in option 2 can be updated in option 3.  However, this program can also be useful when querying the SDR data that currently lies in the database.

Fields in the option:

Block 1:  Maintain Data Files

Field Type
&
Length
Description
Calendar Year YYYY  This is the SDR reporting year.
Table Code N10 The Table code of the SDR table. For example, to query data from the STUD file, Table number 99990011 can be used.
Note that this is the table number as used in ITS, according to the list of tables given in the on-line help of {GSYS2-7}.
Cycle Number N3 The run number for the SDR tables.
Column Code N3 The column number as defined for use in the ITS system for the specific element in the SDR table.  A list of column codes corresponding to each element number in the relevant table is given in section 2.4 of this manual.
Reference number A10 The number according to the reference field of the table.  In section 2.4, the reference field is indicated in the heading of the table.  For example, if a specific student’s data is queried in the STUD file, the student number can be entered in this field.
Sequence Number N10 This is a system generated number which simply indicates in what position the specific record is found in the RSDR data file.  For instance, if the sequence number of a student in the STUD file is 100, then the student appears as the 100th student in the RSDR data for table 99990011.
Field value A80 The value for the element in the specific year, table, cycle number, column and reference number combination.  This field is the only field that may be updated by the user.  For updates on personnel information this is the field which must be used.  Note that any changes made to this field will be written away to a log file.

The system will issue a warning if updates are attempted on a RSDR year that is not set to the current RSDR year.  Also note that any changes made in this option will be recorded in a log file.  The log file records can be printed from {STMNT-5}.

Any records inserted with {RSDR-2} or changes made in {RSDR-3} will be removed if the information is extracted again later by running {RSDR-2}.
