Calculate Student Foundation {SREGS-9}

This option can be used to calculate the Student Foundation Indicator.

This field is calculated according to the student's subject registration. If a student was previously or is currently registered for a foundation subject as indicated on {SACADO-10}, i.e. "Foundation Course" = Yes, then the "Foundation Student" field on {SREGB-1} will be calculated as a Y(es) value. If a student was or is not registered for a foundation subject, this value will be calculated as N(o).

The Student Foundation indicator can also be calculated by using menu option {HEMIS-1}. This calculation will follow automatically after the calculation of the FTEN status.

Once this field is calculated as a Y(es), the calculation program will never overwrite the Y(es) to a N(o) again. If necessary the value in the Student Foundation field can also be updated manually, but must only be used in exceptional cases.

The user must be linked to Access Type 'SFOU' on menu option {SMNT-5} to enable the manual update of this field on {SREGB-1p2}.

Any changes done to the Student Foundation field, whether by calculation or changed manually, will be written to the logfile on {SMNTL-1}.
