Different fund types can be defined by the user. These codes and descriptions are user defined and can differentiate between fund types such as Government Loan Fund, Provincial Bursary Fund (PWV), NSFAS or the different NSFAS donors etc. Different bursary codes can be linked to one fund type on {FBLO-1}

| Description | A40 | A description of the fund type. |
| Bursary / Loan / Own Funds | A1 | This field indicates whether the money allocated from this fund is a bursary, a loan or from other private sources, e.g. bank loan, parent funding, etc. Bursaries only result in transactions in the Student Debtors Subsystem, whereas Loans also result in transactions generated in the Accounts Receivable system. Other funds are only maintained for statistical purposes and no financial transactions are generated. |
