Maintain Bursary Categories  {FBLC-4}


Bursaries may be allocated in different categories.  The different categories and sequence for automatic allocation are defined in this option.  The default values for the estimated cost per student for each of these categories must also be defined.  The sequence in which funds must be allocated to these categories must be defined.

Block Code A2  The block codes applicable to the different categories for which bursaries can be allocated. 
Category A1 The codes of the different categories for which bursaries can be allocated.  Categories defined by ITS are: (T)uition, (B)ooks, (A)ccommodation, (M)eals, (L)iving Allowance and (O)ther Fees.  More codes may be added by the user.
Description A30 The description of the category type.
Allocation Sequence N2 This field determines the sequence in which allocations must be made to students within a specified block.   It is only used when automatic allocations are performed with option {FBLO-7}.
Estimated Cost N10.2 Default values of the estimated study cost of a student can be defined here.  For Tuition and Accommodation the following rules apply:
  • Tuition - Defaults to the fee of the qualification, level and offering type for which the student is admitted or currently registered.  If neither is available, the default value as specified above is used.
  • Accommodation - Defaults to the fee of the residence for which the student is admitted or currently registered.  If neither is available, the default as specified above is used.
The other categories default to the values as specified on this screen when calculating the estimated study cost.
Sub System A2 Indicate the subsystem to which this category may post. CM = Meal subsystem and SD = Student Debtor subsystem.
Account Type A4 Enter the default account type to use when this category is posted to a subsystem.
Campus N2 Enter the default campus code for this category.
