Fee Weight Calculated on Subject Credit Values {FSAM1-10}

The purpose of this option is to update subjects fee weights {FSAM-1b2} event 07 in bulk by applying a monetary value per subject credit. Subject credits are defined on the academic structure - subject definition {SACAD-14}.

If the user selects records per fee structure key fields, the user is prompted for all of the seven fee table key fields (block code, offering type etc.) in the program, although only the key fields defined for the selected year {FSAM-29} are used to select fee records. The user selection is sufficient to select up to one specific record/s from the SD fee structure.

The fee weight formula for event 07 record/s are:

Subject Credit value time Monetary Value per Credit Value divided by Base Value of the Academic Year and Event and rounded to 5th decimal.

Processing
Rules

  1. Select all event "07" fee records for the input criteria/user selection
  2. If the input parameter "Update existing fee weight" is No select only records where the fee weight is null or zero else select all records according to input criteria/user selection
  3. For each selected record get the subjects credit value {SACAD-14}, TAB - Subject Information for the subject and academic year from the subject information.
  4. Multiply the subject credit value with the monetary value per credit value divided by the event "07" fee base value for the academic year.
  5. For each subject code update the rounded fee weight (5th decimal) if run in update mode.

Example a Fee Weight Calculation:

Base value on event 07 year 2006 is 1000 {FSAM-1b1}

Base value on event 07 year 2007 is 1050 {FSAM-1b1}

Subject 101REC Credit Value is 25.000 {SACAD-14b1}

Monetary Value per Credit Value is $1.00

Subject 101REC Credit Value * Monetary Value per Credit Value divide by Base value on event 07 for the academic year.

2006    Fee weight:

25.000 * 1.00 / 1000 = 0.02500

2007    Fee weight

25.000 * 1.00 / 1050 = 0.0238095

rounded to 5 decimals = 0.02381
