External Conversion Codes {GOPS-21}

This option can be used to build a relationship between any codes that may be used for external purposes: but it must relate to the institution's internal codes, e.g. if use is made of a central applications office.

Fields in the option:

PanelBox 1: Search

If the country code is NULL, the values will be in respect of the Education Departments in South Africa. If the country code in option {GCS-1} is "IRL", the list of values will only display values for CAO and HEA.
The user is allowed to have any number of records for the External Body and External Code Type as long as the Internal Code of each record is different.

Field	Type & Length	Description
External Body	A3	The code used to identify the external body e.g. CAO or the different Education Departments or NZQ for loading of External Source Standards for the conversion of the assessment method. The <LIST> OF VALUES function can be used to view the valid values.
External Code Type	A3	The type of code that is being converted e.g. Qual = Qualifications, TXT = text, etc or ASM for loading of External Source Standards for the conversion of the assessment method. The <LIST> OF VALUES function can be used to display the valid types.
Internal Code	A10	The internal code that is used. The <LIST> OF VALUES function can be used to display the valid values if required. For the loading of External Source Standards the Internal Code must be equal to Evaluation Code This list of values only reflect SOME, POSSIBLE VALUES because it will not be developed / updated anymore. Note: The list of values for Citizen Codes (where External Code Type is 'CTZ') will only display Active Citizenship Codes as set up on {GCS2-6}.
External Code	A10	The code used by the external body. This is the code used by the external party to identify his / her record.
Description	A1024	The description that is used for this code. (Mandatory)
Mnemonic	A10	The mnemonic code, should not be used by the user.
