{GOPS-8} Maintain Text Translation and Customization

This option is used to translate and/or customize text that is used in the Student iEnabler. This includes:

An example of each of the types will be given in examples below.

To use this option the user must:

  1. Define Language Codes {GCS-6}
  2. Link a home language to a Student {SREGB-1} or Personnel Member {PBOP-1}
  3. Indicate if a mixture of languages will be allowed in the iEnabler by seting the value of System Operational Definition (SOD) {GCS2-11} 'MX' for sub-system 'GC'.
  4. Indicate the English Language code for the institution by seting the value of System Operational Definition (SOD) {GCS2-11} 'EL' for sub-system 'GC'.
The hierarchy of rendering text:
  1. The student's home language text
  2. If there is no text for the home language, the institution's default English text will display
  3. Else, the default ITS English text will display.

The default text for each of the categories indicated above, is distributed in English. If the institution is comfortable with the text, nothing needs to be done.

It is however possible to either translate/customize some or all of the default text to:
