Update Data in HEMIS Table {HEMIS-4}

This program was intended for use with {HEMIS-3}, since the record that was created in option 3 can be updated in option 4. However, this program can also be useful when querying the HEMIS data that currently lies in the database.

Fields in this option:

Block 1:  Maintain HEMIS Data File

The system will issue a warning if updates are attempted on a HEMIS year that is not set to the current HEMIS year.  Any records inserted with {HEMIS-3} or changes made in this option will be removed if the information is again extracted later by running {HEMIS-1} or {HEMIS-2}.

Length
Description
Calendar Year  YYYY This is the HEMIS reporting year.
Table Code N10 The Table code of the HEMIS table. For example, to query data from the STUD file Table number 1001 can be used.
Note that this is the table number, as used in ITS, according to the list of tables given in the on-line help of {GSYS2-6}.
Column Code N3 The column number as defined for use in the ITS system for the specific element in the HEMIS table.  A list of column codes corresponding to each element number in the relevant table is given in section 2.4 of this manual.
Reference number A10 The number according to the reference field of the table.  In section 2.4, the reference field is indicated in the heading of the table.  For example, if a specific student’s data is queried in the STUD file, the student number can be entered in this field.
Sequence Number N10 This is a system-generated number that simply indicates in which position the specific record is found in the HEMIS data file.  For instance, if the sequence number of a student in the STUD file is 100, then the student appears as the 100th student in the HEMIS data for table 1001.
Field value A80 The value for the element in the specific year, table, column and reference number combination.  This field is the only field that may be updated by the user.  For updates on personnel information, this is the field that must be used.  Note that any changes made to this field will be written away to a logfile.
