Default and Coded MARC Fields {LCAM-4}


The default MARC fields, which are in use in the Cataloguing Sub-system, are displayed in this option; these can be updated by each individual library.  These fields will be added to all bibliographic records that are manually created and can be changed on individual records.  This is useful where standard data is added to all records containing content that is nearly always the same.

Fields in the option:

Block 1:  Default Fields

Field Type

Length		 Description
Tag N3 Enter the Tag number.
Subfield A1 Enter the subfield.
Insert A1 If a “Y” is entered in this field, the system will display the field by default.
Contents A250 Enter a description of the contents.
