Query Periodicals / Notices  {LPEM-4}


This option is used to deal with queries on the receipt of periodicals, and to record notes in respect of any feedback, received from a supplier.


In order to simplify a query, the “mnemonic” can be used to obtain the required order and bibliographic record numbers.  The following fields will be displayed:


Fields in the option:

Block 1:  Periodical Detail

Mnemonic A16 Mnemonic for periodical.
Bibliographic Number N8 Bibliographic record number.
Order No A2 Order type.
Title A78 SAMARK field contents.

Block 2:  Periodicals Received /Incomplete

The volume number - from Periodical Control {LPEM-3}
Suppl. Code - from Receive Periodicals {LPEO-1}
Date Issued - as calculated from “Start Issue Date” and the publication of the interval of the publication.
Date Received - null if not yet received
Copy Number - from the order

Reason Incompl.
Branch
Shelf Number
Order no.
Item Number - null if not yet received
Ret. Code  
Username of person who recorded the receipt - null if item is not yet received
Item Price - as calculated by the system as in {LPEO-1}
Claim Date - calculated by the system from issue date plus “Arrival Delay” days as entered under option [LPEM-3}

The “Suppress Print” indicator as well as the “Reprint” can be updated on this screen.

Note A40 Note field
Suppress Print A1 If a (Y)es is entered in the “Suppress Print” field, no claims will be produced in respect of an outstanding item .
Reprint A1 If the field “Reprint” is set to (Y)es a Routing List will be printed for this item.  This might be useful in the following cases:
*        A lost Routing List or
*        The need to print a Routing List for an item not received

Block 3:  Notices

Block Three will display records of notices sent to the vendor in respect of the item displayed in Block Two

Notice Code A6 The code allocated to this notice under option {LPAR-26}
Note A40 A note can be added here to record any feedback from a vendor or any decision taken within the library.  If the “Suppress Print” indicator is set to (Y)es, it would be appropriate to record the reasons here.
Date DD-MON-YYYY The date on which the system produced this notice.
