Personnel and Payroll Letter design {PLETO-1}


This option is used to design the contents of letters which may be generated for personnel and payroll purposes.

Process:


Special Characters will be used to control the font of the detail in the letter i.e. Bold, Underscore, Italic etc, please see a list of all available Special Characters in Tab 2.

The D-Parameters will be used to select and display data from the database i.e.  $Title$ will be replaced by the Title of the person for whom the letter is generated, please see a list of all available D-Parameters in the Tab 3.

The letter content will be defined in Tab 1 Block2  and the footer content in Tab 1 Block 3.

In this option letter designs can be created, Maintained  or deleted.

Search
If the user clicks on Tab 1 Letter Design it will display all letter codes and descriptions as well as the sub system for which the letter code was created; If dates on which the letter is available to staff on the iEnabler, the iEnabler start and end dates defined will be displayed.

Letter codes with an inactive date <= the system date in {PLETC-2} will not display here.

The user can search for  letter codes based on the letter code or the standard advance search option can be used to select on additional fields.

Search Results - Letter Design

This block will display letter codes searched for in block 1, or if the user click on Create  it will open a new search panel where a letter code can be searched for that was created on {PLETC-2}.
Once a Letter code is selected , the cursor will highlight the selected record and then the letter content can be defined in block 3.






Tab 1 Block 3 - Letter Content

This block will be used to define the letter content using the D-Parameters as well as the Special Characters.
The user may type in any wording and paragraphs as required and use the special Characters to define the font characteristics of the wording i.e. Bold, Italic etc. Where data from the system is required in the letter i.e. Title, Initials and Surname of the person for whom the letter is generated the user may use D-Parameters which will be replaced by the data when the letter is generated i.e. $Title$, $Initials$, $Surname$.

This block will be used to define the letter footer content using the D-Parameters as well as the Special Characters.

D Parameters are variables that may be used in letters replacing a variable with data from the system i.e. $First Name$, if used in a letter will be replaced by the actual first name for
 whom the letter is being generated.
