Competency Types {PPJC-1}


This option is used to create and maintain the Competency Type Codes.

Competency Types, consisting of Behaviour / Attribute (B), Experience (E), Knowledge (K), Qualification Requirements (Q) and Skills (S) are used to define the requirements for both Post and a Person filling the Post.  See Job Profile Template {PPJO-1}, Job Profile per Post and Grade {PPJO-2} and Job Profile per Person {PPJO-3}.

Competency Types may also be used to define requirements in a Job Advertisement displayed on eRecruitment and Advert Design {PERC-2}.

Competency Type A1 This field, which is mandatory, is a combo box in which one of the Competency Types below may be defined:
  • B - Behaviour / Attribute
  • E - Experience
  • K - Knowledge
  • Q - Qualification Requirements
  • S - Skills
Competency Code A6 Competency Code - User defined (Suggested that the Competency Code starts with the same letter as that of the Competency Type).  Mandatory.
Competency Code Description A40 A description of what the Competency Code represents. Mandatory.
Inactive Date D11 Inactive date (DD-MMM-YYYY).  Date from which the Competency may no longer be used.
