Maintain Projection Parameters {RPOPS-3}

This option is used to capture projection parameters.  These parameters are the growth percentages allowed on the subject enrolment data in {RPOPS-2}.

This option consists of two blocks.  The first block allows the user to input or adjust default parameters to be used for the whole institution, while the second block can be used to supply parameters specific to one department.

Fields in the option:

Block 1:  Institution Projection Years

Note that these values will be displayed automatically when the user opens this block, if they are available.  If the default values of the institution have not been captured yet, empty fields will be displayed.

Field Type

Length
Description
Year 1 YYYY  This gives the growth percentage of the first of the three rolling plan years.  For example, if the rolling plans for 2000, 2001 and 2002 are calculated, and this value is 5, then the system will calculate the projected 2000 subject enrolment value as a 5% growth on the 1999 actual figure.  A negative value may be supplied, and will be interpreted by the system as a decline.
Year 2 YYYY This field is the growth percentage for the second of the three years.  For example, if the rolling plans for 2000, 2001 and 2002 are calculated, and this value is 6, then the system will calculate the projected 2001 value as a 6% growth on the 2000 projected figure.  Again, the user may supply either a positive percentage value (growth) or a negative percentage value (decline) here.
Year 3 YYYY This field is the projection parameter for the third of the three years.  Similar to the above example, if the rolling plans for 2000, 2001 and 2002 are calculated, and this value is 10, then the system will project the 2002 value as a 10% growth on the 2001 projected figure.  Once again this field may be given a positive or negative value.

Block 2:  Department Projection Years

This block may be used if there are one or more departments whose projected growth or decline percentages iarenot the same as those of the default values for the whole institution.  The user can capture information on this block by querying the department, executing the query and then either by inserting or updating  the three years’ percentage values.  This is explained in more detail below:

Description
Department N4 The department code as set up in {GCS-4} is used to identify the department (a List of Values is supplied in Query Mode)
Year 1 YYYY This value is similar to the one used in Block 1.  Note that the default values will be used for all departments, unless values are specified for the department in Block 2.  The Block 2 value will be used instead of the Block 1 value, if available.
Year 2 YYYY Similar to the value in Block 1
Year 3 YYYY Similar to the value in Block 1
