Create Ratings File {SCAO2-6}


This program allows the user to complete all ratings and eligibility testing before creating the ratings file that will be sent to the CAO.



The user can also create a ratings file for manually rated applicants on a daily basis (or other frequency) and send these to the CAO. A facility has been provided to ensure that the manually rated applicants will not be duplicated in two consecutive rating files. The user will, however, have the choice to include any manually rated applicant more than once in a rating file. This can be done in {SLLL1-1} by entering an 'R' in the 'Re-print' field for the applicant who must be included again.

1. Check new validation 'SC' so as to include actual scores, or use scores linked to the relevant CAO event and admission status:
1.1. If the validation SC = Y, the program uses the actual scores on the applicant's application record.
1.2. If the validation SC = N, the program uses the score linked to the admit status and event for that application. If this value is null (blank), the program uses the score on the applicant's application record.
1.3. Exception in the case of manually rated applicants, the program will always use the WRS score and random number on the applicant's menu
2. If there is no value in the WRS or Random Number fields, the program will include the actual score that is on the applicant's application record in the ratings file.
3. If the WRS score and random number is null (blank) on the applicant's record, that record will not be included in the ratings file.
4. The program includes all CAO applicants with an admission status that is valid for the CAO process except applicants with a status linked to events A7, A8 and A9.
5. If the user chooses 'Manual ratings = Y', the program includes only manually rated CAO applicants.
5.1. where an applicant does not have a record (with 'Re-print' = null) in table IFIREC.
5.2. it will create 'R' type records for these applicants.
5.3. The program will create a record for this manually rated applicant in table IFIREC in {SLLL1-1} for the document code entered by the user. Users must ensure that they are consistent in the use of this document code alternatively manually rated applicants can be duplicated in the ratings file.
6. If the user chooses 'Manual ratings = N', the program will only include applicants that were not manually rated.
7. The qualification code must be included in the cross-reference table for the external code CAO and code type QAL.
8. The year and block entered by the user must be a valid 'open' application system cycle (system cycle A).
9. If the ratings output file already exists, this file will first be re-named as per the user-defined renaming convention (set up in {SCAO1-9}).
10. The CAO number will be reverse converted according to the rules set up by the user in {SCAO1-7}.
11. The user can choose to create 'P' or 'Q' type records in the ratings file.
11.1. 'P' type records will always overwrite any rating on the CAO database.
11.2. 'Q' type records will never overwrite any rating on the CAO database.
12. Manually rated applicants will be created with an 'R' type record and will always overwrite ratings on the CAO database.
13. On successful completion of this program, the run number record will be updated with: the date of processing, the user who ran the program, and the number of records processed.
14. Users can now specify multiple CAO run numbers to br included or excluded. (30 October, 2002).
