The structure of the Timetable Periods for
each day of the week is entered. It is possible
to have different period lengths and starting times in different
timetable cycles.
Field | Type & Length |
Description |
---|---|---|
Calendar Year | N4 | The Calendar Year for which these periods will be valid. |
Timetable Cycle | N2 | The Timetable Cycle within the calendar year for which periods are to be created. The combination of year and timetable cycle must already have been created under option {STIME-4} before it can be used here. |
Offering Type | A2 | The Offering Type in respect of which the periods must be defined. |
Period Number | N2 | The number of a particular period is entered, e.g. 01.
Periods will
usually be numbered sequentially from one onwards. The system assumes
that the same number of periods applies to all the days within any
one-timetable cycle. The fact that periods exist for Saturdays need not
cause concern, as no activity will be scheduled in those periods unless
the user allocates an activity. |
Start Time | HHMM (N4) | The Start Time of this period, e.g. 0800. |
Length in Minutes | N3 | The Length of this period, e.g. 55 minutes. The system
can handle
lecture periods of unequal lengths, as long as the unequal lengths apply
throughout one timetable cycle, e.g. ‘part-time’
students may have less
periods, but they may be longer. |
End Time | HHMM (N4) | The End Time of this period. The End Time is calculated by adding the Length in Minutes to the Start Time. This field is not updatable. |
