Control Unit Definition {CACC-1}


The control unit is the server, used by the company that does the physical access control, where the access data is downloaded to and from the ITS system.  Every Security Control Unit must be known to the system. This option is used to enter the information in respect of each unit.

Description
Controller Code  A4  This field identifies the unit name. The name of the first control unit must be gcs, if the access control is done by the company General Control Systems.  When the name of further control units are identified, or when access control is done by a third party, the name of the control unit must be clarified between the institution and the third party before this option is used.  The name must be in the host file on the UNIX system and must have an IP number.
Description A30 The description of  the controller unit.
TCP/IP or Serial A1 Define whether the unit is a (T)CP/IP or (S)erial unit
IP Address A20 Enter the IP Address if your selection was (T)CP/IP.
TTY Port A12 Enter the TTY port number if your selection was (S)erial.
Campus  N2 Enter the campus on which this unit is situated.  The system validates that it is a valid campus code as set up in {SPCS-1}, and displays the name.
Building N4 Enter the building in which this unit is situated.  The system validates that it is a valid building code  as set up in {SPCS-4}, and displays the name.
Floor  N2 Enter the floor on which this unit is situated, in the building as defined in the previous field. The system validates that it is a valid floor, from {SPOPS-1} and displays the name. If a Date Inactive, smaller than the System Date, is inserted into the Space Inventory on {SPOPS-1}, the room may not be used.  If the Date Inactive is greater than the System Date it will be displayed as part of the LOV on the Floor/Room.
Room A7 Enter the room number in which this unit is situated. The system validates that it is a valid room number, from {SPOPS-1} and display the name.
Date Inactive DD-MON-YYYY The date on which the room becomes inactive will be displayed.
