Auto-Generation Parameters {CACC-21}


This option caters for the parameters for the auto-generation of cards and access control for students and personnel.  Block 1 of this option is not for the Access Control system and the user needs only to work in block 2.


Note: This option is used by the Meals system and the Access Control System for the auto-generation of cards. The setting of the following discussed fields should be coordinated with the relevant people, if the other two systems are used by the institution.

Automatically Generate Card and Access Control for Personnel A1 If this parameter is Y, a card for a personnel member will be generated automatically.  When the appointment date is entered for  personnel in {PBOP-1}, a record will be created in the card system and in the Access Control system (according to default for user type). A field has been added to Appointment Types {PACS-1}, which allows the personnel department to specify whether cards must be printed for this appointment type. This gives the institution the option not to print cards for types such as student assistants, because they already have student cards and access. 
Automatically Generate Card and Access Control for Students A1 If this parameter is Y, a card and access control record for students will be generated automatically upon registration in {SREGAR-1}.  A record will be created in {CACO-1}, according to defaults for the user type, and in {CACM-2} according to the standard card format.
Must a New Card be Generated each Year for Students A1 This field determines depending of the setting of the indicator the following:
'Y' - Yes -  A new student number and card record will be created each year for a student.
'N - No -  The existing card record will be retained for the next year.
'NULL' - The existing card record will be retained for the next year.
