OFO Code Structure {POFO-1}

The Organising Framework for Occupations (OFO) is a skills-based, coded classification system used by the ETDP SETA. These acronyms represent the following:

ETDP - Education, Training and Development, and
SETA - Sector Education and Training Authority.

OFO Codes {PMAIN-16} gives a comprehensive overview of OFO Codes.

The OFO Codes are populated by Adapt IT Education, published for the new reporting period (supplied by ETDP SETA).
The OFO Codes that are populated into this menu option include the Occupational Classification Codes which have been populated into {PACS1-1} Occupational Classification Codes for the OFO codes that exist in this menu option.

Fields in this Tab are.

Field	Type & Length	Description
OFO Code (A20)	DISPLAY	This field displays the full OFO Code.
OFO Code Description (A80)	DISPLAY	This field represents the description applicable to the full OFO Code.
Major Group (A7)	DISPLAY	A Major Group is 1 digit.
Major Group Description (A80)	DISPLAY	The description assigned to the Major Group.
Sub Major Group (A9)	DISPLAY	A Sub Major Group is 2 digits.
Sub Major Group Description (A80)	DISPLAY	The description assigned to the Sub Major Group.
Minor Group (A11)	DISPLAY	A Minor Group is 3 digits.
Minor Group Description (A80)	DISPLAY	The description assigned to the Minor Group.
Unit Group Code (A13)	DISPLAY	A Unit Group Code is 4 digits.
Unit Group Description (A80)	DISPLAY	The description assigned to the Unit Group Code.
Trade (A1)	DISPLAY	This indicator is predetermined by the SETA for selected OFO Codes.
Green Occupation (A1)	DISPLAY	This indicator is predetermined by the SETA for selected OFO Codes.
Green Skill (A1)	DISPLAY	This indicator is predetermined by the SETA for selected OFO Codes.
Occupational Category (N3.3)	DISPLAY	The Occupational Category relevant to the OFO Code which is defined on {PACS1-1} Occupational Classification Codes have been populated into {PACS1-1} for the OFO codes that exist on this menu option.
Start Date (D11)	DISPLAY	(DD-MON-YYYY).The Start Date of the OFO Reporting Period (Mandatory),
End Date (D11)	DISPLAY	(DD-MON-YYYY).The End Date of the OFO Reporting Period (Optional),

To view a Specialization / Alternate Description, the OFO Code should be highlighted on the OFO Codes tab before navigating to the Specialization / Alternate Description tab. If no Specializations / Alternate Descriptions are linked, tab 2 will be blank.

Tab 2: Specializations / Alternate Description

OFO Specialization Code (A20)	DISPLAY	The code assigned to the specialization.
OFO Specialization Type / Alternate Description (A1)	DISPLAY	There are two Specialization Types. These are: S - Specialization. The Specialization of an Occupation which is a function of the field of knowledge required. A - Alternate Specialization. These may be at a higher or lower level than the actual level.
OFO Specialization / Alternate Description (A80)	DISPLAY	The description of the Specialization Type / Alternate Description is displayed in this field.
Start Date (D11)	DISPLAY	(DD-MON-YYYY).The Start Date of the OFO Reporting Period (Mandatory).
End Date (D11)	DISPLAY	(DD-MON-YYYY).The End Date of the OFO Reporting Period (Optional).
