This option records the awarding of special awards to students. The awards would typically be in the form of medals, special certificates, etc., and would be awarded to the top achievers in various categories. The types of awards that exist at the institution are created under option {SCODE-29}.

| Student Number | N9 | The title, initials and surname will be displayed. |
| Registration Year | YYYY | The calendar year of study in which this award was earned. The system will validate that the student was indeed registered during this year. |
| Merit Award Code | A6 | The code of the award as created under option {SCODE-31}. The description will be displayed. The <LIST> function will display all valid codes. |
| Qualification Code | A6 | The qualification for which the student was registered
at the time when
the award was earned. The system will validate that the student was
indeed registered for this qualification during the above registration
year. The <LIST> function will display all valid codes. |
| Qualification Block Code | A2 | The block code of the qualification for which the
student was
registered at the time when the award was earned. The <LIST> function
will
display all valid codes. |
| Subject Code | A7 | This optional field can be used to record the subject in respect of which this award was made. The <LIST> function will display all valid codes. |
| Subject Block Code | A2 | The block of the subject is mandatory if the subject field is not NULL. The <LIST> function will display all valid codes. |
| Notes | A30 | An optional note field to record any further
information in respect of this award. |
| When academic records/credit certificates are printed under option {SSTURA-2, SSTURA-3, SSTURA-4, SSTURA-5}, any award will be printed with the year in which it was awarded in the format: “Merit Award: (description)”. Reports {SSTURM-1, SSTURM-2, SSTURM-3, SSTURM-4} can be used to identify the students who qualify for awards. Report {SSTURM-5} will list all the awards made in a specific year. | ||
