Maintain Mark Type Codes {SCODE-10}

Mark Types are used to diversify the types of marks that can be used, especially on continuous assessment levels. Users can define Class Marks, Practical Marks and Tutorial Marks (and any combination in-between)

Some of these codes are supplied with the system and should not be deleted (see list below). These codes are used by the examination and test marks programs. New codes may be added to potentially handle Mark Types not presently handled by the system.

Users can indicate if the Mark Type will be used to calculate the Full Period Mark. If not used to calculate the Full Period Mark, it can be used as a Progression Mark. See the discussion of the field below.

The built-in codes are:

EM - Examination Mark
TM - Test Mark
PM - Practical Mark
DM - Dissertation Mark
PE - Practical Exam Mark
TE - Theoretical Exam Mark
IS - Practical / Theoretical Exam Mark.

Mark Types can be printed with {SCODR2-2}.

Field	Type & Length	Description
Code	A2	A unique Code to identify the type of marks.
Description	A30	Enter the Mark Type Description.
Mark Type Use	A1	Three values can be entered: 'N' - this Mark Type is used for exam marks. Currently (Integrator 1) the only value used is 'EM' = Exam Mark and this value is 'hard coded ' in the exam processing programs. 'P' - For this Mark Type, assessment marks can be entered and Mark Type marks calculated. However the Mark Type mark will not be used in the calculation of the Full Period mark. Mark types not used in the calculation of the Full Period mark will also not be used in determining exam admission. 'Y' - For this Mark Type, Assessment marks can be entered, Mark Type marks calculated and the Mark Type mark will be used in the calculation of the Full Period mark. 'I' - Incidental Learning. Do not use in any calculations.
Allow Create of Assessment?	A1	Should assessments be allowed for this Mark Type to be created in {SSTUD1-4} or {SSTUD1-5}
