Alternative Entry of Assignments and Assessments {SSTUD1-4}

Alternative way of entering Assignments {TASKS1-2} and Assessments {SSTUD1-2}. Assessed by Comment means the result is not important but the comment is important: only subjects allowed with a rubric with one result

To be able to effectively use this option the following must be defined:

Define Mark Types {SCODE-10}

User can only create records on here if the Mark Type is marked in the field “Allow Create of Assessment?"
Field "Mark Type Use" is used in the calculation of the Final Result

On {USERS-1} Tab Menu Options and their Intrcutions: the field Parameter 1 should be "ASSESS" for this option to ensure that NO assessed by comment (rubric has one result) Assessment Records are displayed here
Define Results for Competence {SSTUD3-1}
Define Rubric Codes {SSTUD3-26}.
Define Mark Type and Assessment Marks Criteria {SSTUD3-7}.
Create Assessment records for the students {SSTUD1-8}.
Set up new System Operational Definitions on on {SMNT-12}:

CC/SR - Complete subject without confirmation
NT/SR - not attempted Result

Set up of Validation on {SMNT-1} PM/SM - Process Cancelled Student Mark
System Cycle 'M' on {SMNT-2} should be open for today's date

Query a Student Number to see all the subjects for the student OR query records for different students by querying an academic year and subject code.

This option and {SSTUD1-5} is built on the same PROCEDURE i80pkg.sql

Fields in this option:

Block 1: Assessment Evaluation

Assignment records that was generated on {TASKS1-1} will display with the wording 'Submission Nr:NN Bundle:NNN'
Assessment records that was generated on {SSTUD1-8} will display with the wording ‘Assessment Record’ and is marked in red.

Field	Type & Length	Description
Not Assessed Records Only?	A1	When the field is ticked, only Assignments that doesn't have a result will be displayed and the corresponding Assessment Records will always display. When the field is not ticked, all Assignment and Assessment Records will display.
Student	N9	Student Number, Student Names and Surname will display
Subject	A7	Subject that the Assessment Marks will be entered for. Right click will display the description and allow the used to enter Comments on the subject that can be seen at {SREGB-12}. (See Block_1:_Subject_Evaluation_Comments)
Year	YYYY	Academic Year for Student and Subject. LOV displays only academic years valid for entered student number. When the year is entered, the block code, offering type gets populated and the level of work received.
New Assessment	Button	Button will only be available if there exist criteria for a Mark Type that is linked with "Allow Create of Assessment" on {SCODE-10} (see Assessment Maintenance (Pop-up)). The following fields need to be entered before the button can be pressed: Student Number, Subject and Year
Block	A2	Block code for Student, Subject and Year. Right Click will display the description
OT	A2	Offering Type for the Student, Subject, Year and Block. Right Click will display the description
Mark Type	A2	Mark Type for the Assessments. Validation on this field will test that the Mark Type is not Incidental Learning or that the Mark Type is linked with "Allow Create of Assessment" on {SCODE-10}. Right Click will display the description
Mark Nr	N2	Mark Number for the Mark Type
Item	N8	Display field only, Item as entered on {SSTUD3-7}. Description will display on right click of field.
Link	N8	Curriculum Link of Assessment, can only be updated for Assessments and not Assignments. Right click will allow the user to "View External Curriculum Links", this will display all the External Curriculums linked to the subject.
Curriculum Level	N2	Curriculum Level of the work received. Description will display on right click. Only updateable on Assignment record. On save the value will be copy to the Assessment record.
Re-submit?	A1	Must the student re-submit this assessment? Warn the user if this is the last allowed submission (i80pkg.i80_no_of_submissions) This field is only updateable on the Assignment Record. On Assessment Record the value is the last resubmit value where Assignment Record's result IS NOT NULL. (i80pkg.i80_get_AssessmRe_submit)
Confirm	A1	Confirmation that the Declaration was signed Field updateable when Assignment needs confirmation (i44pkg.i44_AssessmentNeedConfirm) Is this subject/involved subject a standard {SACADO-10} field “Standard Type” is NOT NULL. Confirmation is done when the SOD (‘CC’,’SR’) is set-up on {SMNT-12}.
Mark	N4	Mark of the Assignment. Validation will be done only for Objective Evaluation (‘O’) The mark on re-submission of assignments may not exceed = (i80pkg.i80_do_mark_logic) This field is not updateable for evaluation types Professional Judgement(P) and Competance (C) Mark is only updateable on Assignment Records. On save the value will be copy to the Assessment Records.
Result (and tick box) x 5	A2	Assignment Result. Result fields are only updateable on Assignment Record. On save the value will be copy to the corresponding assessment record (JCH). Below the result the description of the result will display with the Outcome Criteria of the Assessment on {SSTUD3-7} Tab Assessment Result Criteria. Result Tick box: Tick box can only be used for Competence or Professional Judgment records. If the box is tick then the result will be updated on assignment and copied to assessment. When the result is for the evaluation type Professional judgement (P): {SSTUD3-7} Use the rubric on Assessment Mark Criteria {SSTUD3-26b2} Use the rubric to get the results link to the rubric. {SSTUD1-4} Show the results maximum of 5 in sequence. When the result is for the evaluation type Competence (C): {SMNT-12} First result is the SOD (‘NT’,’SR’) {SSTUD3-1} Secondly Result for "Not yet competent" {SSTUD3-1} Lastly Result for "Competence" When the result is for the evaluation type Objective (O): Tick boxes are disabled Only the first result can be entered Result should exist on {SCODE-23} When a result changed on save a pop-up pop ups with “Enter Confirmation that Declaration was signed for Subject: “ If the answer is YES, the Declaration Date on the Assessment gets populate with today date. THE ROLL DOWN OF RESULTS – to Subject record and Integrated subjects – Depends on the SOD ('CC','SR') on {SMNT-12} If the SOD is Y, then the results will roll down to Subject level If the SOD is N, Check if the subject needs confirmation If the confirmation is needed and if the confirmation was ticked, then the results will roll to Subject level. If no confirmation is needed or the confirmation was not ticked, then the result will roll to Mark Type level only. Result Description: Consist of result description {SCODE-23} and outcome criteria on assessment result criteria {SSTUD3-7b4}.
Learning Outcome	A2000	Learning Outcome of the Assessment from {SSTUD3-7} Tab Assessment Mark Criteria will display. Double click will open the editor with ‘normal’ font size. This field is only updateable on the Assessment Record, if subject on the academic structure {SACADO-11}, field “Allow Default Learning Outcome Update” is ticked.
Dispatch Date	DD-MON-YYYY	Date the item linked to the assessment on {SSTUD3-7} was dispatched to the student.
May Complete	A1	Indicates whether the programs to do the calculation up to final marks and results must be executed for the screen subject. (Integrated subject will complete if the integrated subject may complete (i44pkg.i44_ass_can_complete). Only Mark Types with "Mark Type Use" equal to Y or P will be included.
Complete Subject	Button	The user clicks on this button, the calculation programs will be activated to compute all levels of the subject, up to the final mark and result level for an individual student. If the subject is linked to the Curriculum Structure on {SACADO-17}, {SSTUD4-23} Compute Main Curriculum Module Subject Result - will also be activated. If the student is registered for a subject that is linked to another subject on the Integrated Structure on {SACAD-12}, the integrated subject’s results will be computed as well, if the subject can be completed.
Receive Date	DD-MON-YYYY	Date the item linked to the assessment on {SSTUD3-7} was received in the Holding Bin.
Assessed Date	DD-MON-YYYY	Display field only. Date the result was updated will display
User	A8	Display field only. User that did the result update will display
Comments	A2000	Comment for this Assignment/Assessment. Ctrl E will open the editor with ‘normal’ font size. Double click will open the editor with ‘normal’ font size This field is updateable on Assignment record and Assessment record.

Block 1: Subject Evaluation Comments (Pop-up)

Comment Date and User can't be updated, this is the Date the Comment was created and the User is the User that created the Comment.

Textual Type	A10	The Textual Data Type as defined and active in {SCODE3-12} for the Year and the Subject the student are registered for. Description will display.
Reporting Period	A3	The Reporting Period as defined and active in {SCODE3-12}. Different reporting Periods per year can be created to enter different comments for the same Textual Data Type.
Comments	A4000	Comment Text for the Student number, Year, Subject, Textual Type and Reporting Period can be entered.
Save	Button	Will save the changes that can also be seen on {SREGB-12}
Close	Button	Pressing this button, will go back to Block 1: Assessment Evaluation without saving

Group Value	A2	Enter the Group Value that is defined for the Year, Subject, Offering Type and Group Type.
Mark Type	A2	Mark Type for the Assessments. Right Click will display the description
Mark Nr	N2	Mark Number for the Mark Type
Learning Outcome	A2000	Learning Outcome of the Assessment from {SSTUD3-7} Tab Assessment Mark Criteria. Double click will open the editor with ‘normal’ font size.
Curriculum Link	N8	External Curriculum Code as set up on {SACAD-26}. Right click will display the tree of the curriculum and this screen can be moved arround.
Item No	N8	The item linked to the assessment on {SSTUD3-7} was dispatched to the student.
Tick to Select	A1	Tick the records that you want to create for this student.
OK	Button	Press of this button will create Assessment Records for the Student
Cancel	Button	Press of this button will go back to Block 1: Assessment Evaluation without saving

Processing Rules
Layout	All multi line fields have editor functionality. To display more text and to edit the content, the user can press Ctrl E on the field. Assignment records that was generated on {TASKS1-1} will display with the wording 'Submission Nr:NN Bundle:NNN' Assessment records that was generated on {SSTUD1-8} will display with the wording ‘Assessment Record’ and is marked in red.
Auto Query	This option will auto query when comming from {SSTUDY-36}: From Single View - Student Information: Student Number, Year and Indicator for "Not Assessed Records Only" From Single View - Subject Information: Student Number, Year, Indicator for "Not Assessed Records Only", Offering Type, Subject and Subject Number From Multi View - Student Number, Year, Indicator for "Not Assessed Records Only", Offering Type, Subject and Subject Number
Data	Assignment and Assessment Records from all Mark Types can be updated and will be visible on the screen, accept for Mark Type that is marked as Incidental Learning on {SCODE-10} Each record also displays Evaluation type applicable. (Objective Eval - O, Competency Eval - C and Prof Judg Eval - P)
Cancellations	Screen will display records regardless of cancellations but update will depend on validation PM {SMNT-1}
Complete Subject	How will subject be completed – which set of rules will be called to calculate mark/result depends on linked evaluation types as different evaluation types can be linked to Assessment Mark Criteria {SSTUD3-7} as well as to Mark Type Criteria for a same subject. Therefore implemented criteria will not exclusively depend on evaluation type of the app’s current record . When call is issued for a subject where : i) All Assessment Marks and all Mark Types are linked to either ‘Objective Evaluation‘ or ’Competency’ or mix of the two - will be called {SSTUD4-15}. ii) Assessment Marks and Mark Types have mixed evaluation types of ‘Professional Judgment’ and ‘Objective Evaluation’ then error will be issued and subject will not be completed. iii) All Assessment Marks and Mark Types are linked to ‘Professional Judgment’ or 'Competency' or mix of the two - (i80pkg) process for subject completion will be called. a) If all competency based Assessment Marks /Mark Types are evaluated as competency ‘Y’ then results for Mark Types/Subject will carry highest Professional Judgment result. b) If any of competency based Assessment Marks /Mark Types are evaluated as competency ‘N’ then result for corresponding Mark Type and consequently for Subject will carry result of Not Competent.
Integrated Assessment	a) When Objective Evaluation called to Complete Subject – executed programs should be sensitized to validate Evaluation Types linked to Mark Types/Assessment Types of integrated assessments. Should any of these be allowed to be linked to Professional Judgment? b) When Professional Judgment called to complete subject (i80pkg) then automatic attempt to compete subjects linked trough Integrated Assessment Structure will be done only if their Assessment Marks/Mark Types fall under Professional Judgment rules. If not message will be displayed and completion of these subjects will have to be done separately ( by querying ‘Integrated Subject’ and executing Complete Subject button).
On Commit	If only an assignment record exists the corresponding assessment record will be created When a new record is inserted, the assessment record is created. The confirmation of a record is done. New Alert was added. 'Must assessments with results remain available for the current query?' When field “Not Assessed Records Only?” is ticked and record is saved, the alert appears to make sure they want to save. The reason for this is: when this record is save the program do a re-query and the records get shuffled. Validations that are done: Check if marking cycle open (stud.i80pkg.i80_cycle_open) – M cycle Validate bundle against activity parameters of person linked to the bundle (stud.i80pkg.i80_validate_iem) – {TASKS1-2} Warn user if this is the last allowed submission (stud.i80pkg.i80_no_of_submissions) Procedures: i80pkg.do_tasks_logic integrated_subjects Uni: iffuni calling - {SSTUD4-15} Auto Complete Calculation Module that consists of the following programs: {SSTUD4-14} Compute The Assessment Marks Result {SSTUD4-11} Compute Mark Type marks from the test marks {SSTUD4-13} Compute Mark Type Results {SSTUD4-1} Compute HALF/FULL Period Marks {SSTUD4-2} Compute Exam Admission {SSTUD4-3} Compute Exam Mark {SSTUD4-4} Compute Final mark and Result {SSTUD4-23} Compute Main Curriculum Module Results
