Making an Offer {SNAPPAA-8}

This option is used to make offers to applicants.

The following must be done before this option may be executed:

The Quotas must be defined at {SACAD-13b6}

The %Quotas may be defined at {SNAPPAC-6} if the country code on {GCS-1} is defined as 'UGN'.

An Admission status for the events A2 and A7 must be defined at {SCAO1-6}.

System cycle 'A' must be open at  {SMNT-2b1}.

An Application Record must exist at {SNAPPA-3} for the student to be considered.

This option must only be executed AFTER the Eligibility program on {SNAPPAA-5} is executed.

Once correspondence has been sent to applicants, the program should no longer be run for 'Redo'. This will cause data to change and applicants to whom an offer was made previously may now be excluded.  Only applicants with an Admission status linked to event 'A2' will be considered.

If an applicant's higher choice has an application status that will prevent him / her from registering and this status is not linked to event 'A2', the following choice will be considered. It may happen that an applicant with a lower Qualification choice number replaces an applicant with a higher choice number due to the fact that the applicant has a higher WRS score.

The program may be run as a 'Re-do' or to 'Add' applicants.

  • A 'Re-do' implies that all the applicants with an application status linked to event 'A7' and 'A2' are considered. The Application Status 'A7' is changed, at the beginning of the calculation, to the application Status linked to the event 'A2'.
  • An 'Add' implies that students will be added until the quota is full.

If an institution works with quotas, these must be defined at {SACAD-13b6}. If the amount of offers to be made will differ on Student Type and / or Gender, the % Quota must be defined at {SNAPPAC-6}.

  • If only the quota on {SACAD-13b6} is considered, the offers will be made to applicants until the quota is full.
  • If the institution considers student type and gender % quota on {SNAPPAC-6} as well, the calculation will be done on  a % of the quota on {SACAD-13b6}:
        eg.    Quota     Student Type     Male        Female
                  100          N =  40%         80%        20%

        This means that only 40 N-type students of which (32 male and 8 female) may be selected.
