Disabilities {SREGB-10}

This option is used to indicate if a student has any physical disabilities. This information is typically used to make special arrangements with regards to class attendance, examinations and residences.

Disability Categories are set up on option {GCS2-1}.

Only users linked to user restriction “SDIS” on {SMNT-5} for a faculty / department / Campus may update or view disability information.

Field	Type & Length	Description
Student Number	N9	Enter the Student number to whom the disability applies. A biographical record must exist for the student on {SREGB-1}.
Code	A3	The Code of the Disability Category which applies, as defined in {GCS2-1}. Only Active disabilities may be used. For study guide brochures on disabilities see Outline Study Guide and Enquirer Brochure Manual.
Used Services	A1	This is used to indicate if the service has been used by the student (Y/N).
Remarks	A250	Any remarks that may apply could be entered here. This could be used to indicate if special apparatus is needed, etc.

	This option is subject to the user restriction 'SDIS' as set up in option {SMNT-5}. The restriction is done on the primary qualification of a student, if the student is enrolled, or alternatively on the first application of the student. All records are displayed when a query is done, but the user may only update information in respect of those records that belongs to the faculty or department the user is linked to. If an application / registration record does not exists for a student and the user is linked to 'SDIS' the rules still apply. The following Validation controls can be set in option {SMNT-1}, TAB - Validation Control to determine at which level the control is set. The User can only see and update records that belong to the faculty or department the user is linked to. 'RV' determines whether the control is done at Faculty or Departmental level 'RM' determines the control is done per Campus on a second level after Faculty or Department.
