Assesment Questions / Topic Definition {TASKS1-31}


This option is used to maintain Assessment Question Definition, Comments and Subject Topics. On selection of this option, the user will be navigated to Block 2. On <Next Block> the cursor will be moved to B3 and then B1.  If a query is done on block 2 the detail that exists on b1 and b3 will be populated.  The user may however query a record on any of the 3 blocks directly. This data will be used with {TASKS1-2}, entry of question marks.

Fields in this option:

Block 2:  Subject Topics.

Year  YYYY  Enter the Academic Year for which the subject topic will be valid.
Subject Code A7 The Subject Code for which the structure must be created.
% of Scope N3.2 Enter the % of Scope for this subject topic.
Topic Sequence A10 To store the actual Topic Number.
Topic Number N3.2 Enter a Topic Number, decimals allow for sub-topics to be defined.
Name A30 Enter a Subject Topic Name.
Link to Question Y/N A1 To indicate if the topic number may be linked to the Question Sequence Number. 
Description A2500 Enter the Description to be linked to the Topic.

Block 3:  Assessment Question Comments.

The following fields are populated from block 2:
Year N4 Enter the Academic Year for which the subject topic comment will be valid.
Subject Code A7 The Subject Code for which the comment must be created.
Topic Sequence N3.2 The Topic Sequence to be used in the sorting of  the topic number.
Topic Number  A10 The actual Topic Number for which the comment must be defined.
The following field will be populated with the next sequence number for the year, subject and topic combination.
Comment Number N3 The Comment Number for the subject topic.  When the marks are entered on Question level via {TASKS1-2} the comment will be populated and the user may then edit the detail.
The user must describe the comment:
Comment Description A2500 Enter a Subject Topic Comment Description.

Block 1:  Assessment Questions / Topic Definition.

The following fields are populated from block 3:

Year YYYY The Academic Year for which the subject question will be valid.
Subject Code A7 The Subject Code for which the question will be created.
Indicator A1 Select if the question mark definition is on assessment or exam paper level. The default is Assessments [T].
Offering Type A2 Enter a valid subject offering type.
  • If Indicator = T: All offering type codes and descriptions linked to the subject codes for the year entered as captured on {SSTUD3-7}, TAB - Assessment Mark Criteria.
  • If Indicator = E: All offering type codes and descriptions linked to the subject codes for the year entered as captured for {SACADO-12}, Offering Types.
Group Type A1 Enter a valid group type (C)lass Group, (P)ractical Group, (T)utorial Group or Exam Group
Group A2 Enter a valid Group value.
  • If Indicator = T: Display all group values linked for the Year, Subject, Offering Type and Group Type combination as defined for table JDQTMC.
  • If Indicator = E: NA
Exam Type A1 Enter an Exam Type for the paper, question definition.
  • If indicator = T: The field will default to A as indicated above and the user should not navigate to this field.
  • If the indicator = E: The user must only be allowed valid subject / exam types combinations for which records exists in table IDWCRT for the input year.
Mark Type A2 Enter a valid Mark Type
  • If Indicator = T: Only allow Mark Types as linked to the Subject, Offering Type, Group Type and Group Combination as defined in table JDQTMC.
  • If Indicator = E: The Mark Type must default “EM” and the user should not navigate to this field.
Assesment / Exam Number  N2 Enter an Assessment or Exam paper Number. 
Question Sequence N3 Question Sequence used in the sorting of the Question Number
Question Number N3.2 Enter a Question Number for the assessment or paper number. Decimals allow for sub-questions.
Out of Mark N4 Enter the Out of Mark value for this question.
% of Fee N3 Percentage of Fee payable for this question.
Marker N9 Enter a valid personnel number for the marker that will receive % of fee for question.
Topic Nr N3.2 Enter a valid Topic Number. Decimals allow for sub-topics to be defined.
