Maintenance on Event Type O {FPRM-28}

This option may be used to maintain an event "O" - Calculation in progress record, which may exist in the Event Log File {FPRM-3} for a salary calculation that has been interrupted.  

• Refer to the Processing Rules of the Full Salary Calculation {FPRN-2} for more detail about the "O" - Calculation in Progress record.
• This option is similar to the Event Logfile {FPRM-3}, but only "O" - Calculation in Progress records are displayed and the Event Type may be changed to "C" - Salary Calculation or "Z" - Late Calculation records.
• If a Single Salary Calculation {FPRN-3} was interrupted, the "O" record will display, but the personnel number field will contain no information, unless it was a "Late Calculation". Refer to Single Salary Calculation {FPRN-3} for information about "Late Calculations".

The records displayed with this option should not be deleted, as this will prevent a recalculation for the specific payroll cycle, calculation and sequence number. 

Access to this option should be restricted to the payroll system's System administrator.   

• Procedures:
• Change an "O" - Calculation in Progress record.
• The record should only be changed if the Salary Calculation process has terminated abnormally, for example after a power failure.
• The procedure to re-start a failed salary calculation is as follows
1. Change the "O" record manually to a "C" - Salary Calculation record: or a "Z" - Late Calculation record if the "O" record exists as a result of a failed "Late Calculation".
2. Roll the calculation back with Rollback Full Calculation {FPRN-22}. (Or Rollback Single Calculation {FPRN-23} if applicable).
3. Restart the calculation with the applicable option. (Full Salary Calculation {FPRN-2} or Single Salary Calculation {FPRN-3 }).
