Application Qualification Classifications and Descriptions {SNAPPA-18}


This option is used to display Qualification information from the Academic Structure.

Tab 1:  Qualification Indicators

No new records can be created on this block. 
Fields in this option will be used in the Online Application Wizard and will not update any fields from {SACAD-13} / {SACADO-1} except Qualification Description.

Description
Academic Year N4  Academic Year for Qualification.
Qualification code A6 Qualification Code.
Description A45 Qualification description is pre-populated from the Academic Structure but can be changed. This description will be displayed on the online Application Wizard.
Post/Under Gr A1 Enter (P)ost or (U)nder Graduate. This indicator is only to be used within the application pages to determine which qualifications are to be displayed to the student.The undergraduate or postgraduate indicator on {SCODE3-1} will not be updated when these fields are changed.  The value of this field will be used to determine if the V system cycle is open.
Curr/E-Curr A1 Enter (C)urricular or (E)xtra-curricular information.
The * will only display on the Qualification that is linked to more than 1 Offering Type on  {SACADO-2}  / {SACAD-13} tab: Offering Types, for the Academic Year. Those Offering Types must be linked to Subsidy Types A/B and C on {GCS-5}.
SLP A1 Indicate whether the qualification is a Short Learning Programme (Y/N).
Token A128 Enter token for the qualification.

The following two blocks are only applicable to clients with a contract with external ARS web service.

Tab 2:  Qualification Availability

This block is used only by the ARS web service which is called by the online application wizard.

The program will use the academic year linked to cycle 2 to validate the qualification code. In case of a newly created qualification that is only valid for the new academic year – there has to be an entry for cycle 2 for this academic year.

Start Date DD-MON-YYYY Enter the date from when this qualification should be available for academic application.
End Date DD-MON-YYYY Enter the end date for the availability of the qualification for academic application.
Available A1 Indicate if this qualification is available for use on an academic application on iEnabler.
Top Achievers N3 Indicate the percentage for top achievers to override the available indicator

Tab 3:  ARS Processing

The setup of data on this block is used on the online application wizard by the external ARS web service.

Academic Year N4 Enter the academic year.
Post/Under Grad A1 Indicate whether (P)ost or (U)nder graduate.
Curr/E-Curr A1 Indicate whether (C)urricular or (E)xtra-curricular.
Matric Type A2 Enter the matric type  for undergraduate qualifications.  This field is mandatory only when the Post/Under Grad field is set to "U".
Valid values will only be matric types where the fields "Version" = 2 and "Use in the iEnabler?" = Yes on {SCODE3-1} TAB: Matric Types.
ARS A1 Indicate whether this combination of qualifications should be sent to ARS (Y/N).  If an application adheres to the values per record and ARS indicator is Y,only then will the Online Application Wizard use the results from the ARS web service and indicate to the applicant if he is eligible to apply or not.
