Copy a Timetable {STIME-6}

This option will allow Timetables to be copied from an existing Year / Cycle combination to another Year / Cycle combination. The periods defined in {STIME-5} will also be copied if they do not exist as yet.

The user will be requested to specify the year and cycle to copy from as well as the year and cycle to copy to. A report on the number of records copied is produced at the end of the copy process. Note that the System Cycle {STIME-1}, would have to be set to the appropriate year before work can start on the new timetable.

The values for the new Year and Cycle, as defined in option {STIME-4} must exist before the information may be copied.

The program will do validations against {GOPS-2} and will not copy neither create records for a date that falls on a public holiday.

The rules that will be applied are:

If the Year / Cycle to copy to does not exist because it has not yet been created under option {STIME-4}, no records will be copied to the undefined combinations.
The copying of a Timetable will automatically copy the appropriate records to option {STIME-5}. Changes to the length of periods, etc. can then be made to the copied structure. If timetable periods already exist under option {STIME-5} in respect of the cycle to copy to, the copy process will delete the existing records.
Census Dates must be defined on {GOPS-1}.
The Subject / Block must be defined on {SACADO-12}.
The system will not validate for clashes during the copy process.

This option can be used:

To copy the timetable from the present year, cycle and / or offering type, to the next year, same cycle and offering type. This can then be used as the basis for the planning of next year's timetable.

To copy the stable part of the timetable from one cycle to another within the same year. This copy can then be used as the basis on which the changes can be made.

Note: When records are copied from one cycle to another, the program will copy all subjects offered in academic blocks which overlap at either the start or the end date of the cycle to which the records are copied. The start and end dates of the academic blocks are defined in option {GOPS-1}.
