Maintain Matric Subjects {SCODE-5}

This option is used to enter Matric subjects and link the Matric subject to a Matric type.

ITS provides the list of 63 JMB matriculation subjects within the system, which the user may expand as desired (refer to JMB Matriculation Examination Handbook).  It is possible to obtain the matric exam results on magnetic tape from the appropriate Education Departments, and to update the student records programmatically.  Option {GOPS-21}, “External Conversion Codes”, can be used to create a relationship between the internally defined matric subject codes and the codes supplied by the Education Department.  Any other subject may be added and British “O” and “A” levels can also be used.

The Field of Learning may be used in the Eligibility Program on {SNAPPAA-5}.  When the Eligibility program is run {SNAPPAA-5} and on {SNAPPAC-5} a record is found that matches the Year/Qualification on {SNAPPA-3}, and field of learning that matches the student on this option, the student will be eligible or not, depending on the WRS score of the student and the minimum defined on {SNAPPAC-5}.
