National Benchmark Test (NBT) Code Structure {SNAPNBT-1}

This option will be used to define the National Benchmark Test code structure.

The code structures will be used to capture the NBT results on {SNAPNBT-2},or match and/or upload results via an external file on {SNAPNBT-3}.

The Qualification Code structure must be defined in {SACADO-1} - Qualification Codes, for the year for which the results will be used.

Qualification Types must be defined on {SCODE3-1} Tab - Qualification Types.

The facility to Import and Export data is available on all the blocks of this application.

Fields in this option:

Block 1:  Codes

This block is used to define the NBT test codes that may be used.

Field Type
&
Length
Description
Code A6  Enter the NBT code to be used.
Description A45 Enter the NBT description to be linked to the code entered.
Sequence N1 Enter the sequence in which the different test result on the student result {SNAPBNT-2} must be displayed.
This is required to be able to display all test on ONE row per student.

Active A1 This field is used to indicate if this this code is currently in use or not.

Example:

Block 2:  Levels

This block is used to define the outcome levels of results.

Field Type
&
Length
Description
Code A2 Enter the outcome level for result purposes. This is used to link it to the test code on block 3 and then add the ranges applicable to the level.
Description A45 Enter the description linked to the level.
Recommendation A45 Enter the Recommendation for the outcome level .
Active A1 This field is used to indicate if this this range is currently in use or not.

Block 3 : Ranges

This block is used to set up ranges for each test code/level combination. It can be done on Qualification (T)ype or (Q)ualification level. If the institution requires all qualifications linked to ONE qualification type to write the same tests, only ONE qualification (T)ype record is required. If different qualifications are linked to the same qualification type and require different tests and/or levels, then a qualification record is required for each exception. If a record exists for a (Q)ualification and a record exists for qualification (T)ype linked to the qualification on which the student must be matched, the selecting of the range value to determine the performance level will be done on the (Q)ualification record.

Field Type
&
Length
Description
Year N4 Enter the year for which the National Benchmark Test Ranges will be valid
Qual Type/Qual Indicator A1 Enter the National Benchmark Tests Qual type/Qualification Indicator (NBT) for which the range must be defined.
Qual Type/Qual Code A6 Enter the National Benchmark Tests Qualification type or Qual Code(NBT) for which the range must be defined.
Code A2 Enter the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) test code for which the range must be defined.
Minimum Level N3 Enter the minimum mark for the performance level.
Maximum Level N3 Enter the maximum mark for the performance level.
Perform Level N3 Enter performance of a student with respect to the minimum and maximum levels of the tests will determine the amount of assistance required if needed at all. This is determined by recommendation defined per level.
Description A45 This is a display field  and refers to the description linked to the Performance Level.

Block 4:  NBT Test Mandatory

This block is used to set up which tests are mandatory for which qualifications/types . It can be done on Qualification (T)ype or (Q)ualification level. If this block does not contain data then tests are non-mandatory.

If the test is defined as mandatory and the program {SNAPNBT-3} is run for the (M)atching option, an Exclusion Status Code will be inserted into {SREGL-2}. The specific code used will be determined by the SOD 'NB' for subsystem 'RE' on {SMNT-12}.

Field Type
&
Length
Description
Year N4 Enter the year for which the National Benchmark Test will be mandatory.
Code A2 Enter the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) test code.
