Enter Half per Mark and Attendance Factor  {SSTUD1-1} 

This option allows the entering of half period marks and an attendance factor. The half period mark will subsequently appear on class lists.

Function “SREC” under option {SMNT-5} can control access to this option. This makes it possible to limit access to the updating of marks in to one Faculty / Department and Campus only. Campus restriction is not mandatory.

• Faculty or Department - determined by validation 'RV' {SMNT-1}
•     If 'Y' then restriction is on faculty level and what is entered on {SMNT-5} should be faculty code.
•     If 'N' then restriction is on department level and what is entered on {SMNT-5} should be department code
• Campus - determined by validation 'RM'
•     If 'Y' then the validation on {SMNT-5} is campus code.
•     If 'N' the campus code is not used in restricting even if entered on {SMNT-5}.

These options will operate on the {SMNT-1} validation ‘PM’ “Process Cancel Student Marks”. If the subject was cancelled and 

• If the validation is ‘N’, no marks may be entered. 
• If the validation is ‘Y’, the marks may be entered.

Normally, the Subject Result Code may not be updated when a Qualification is Completed. However, functionality can now be altered using {SMNT-12} SOD IC/SR Ignore Completed Qual Restriction during Subject update.

• If set to NULL or N, the update of subject data will work as is. Once a qualification has been marked as Completed, no update will be allowed.
• If set to Y, the update of subject data will be allowed. If an institution needs to enter a mark or result or update the attendance factor after the qualification has already been marked as completed, the update will be allowed.

• If a student has cancelled his / her enrolment for a subject, the student will still appear on the screen when assessment marks are entered and the date of cancellation will also be displayed. The student will also appear on class lists after the enrolment was cancelled, displaying his / her cancellation date. This is done because the lists from which these marks are entered would otherwise be subject to continual change, which would disrupt the input sequence.
• Students that are enrolled for Attendance Only (“A”- exam type) will appear on class lists and on the input screen for assessment marks.
• Students who were granted an exemption in a subject (under option {SREGAR-3}) will not appear on class lists, or on the input screen for the half period mark or attendance factor.
• Students who are enrolled for examination purposes only (“E”- exam types) will not appear on Class Lists, or on the input screen for half period mark or attendance factor.
  

• When the query is only on a 'Student Number' the program will return all the students subject data where any open 'M' cycle to control the records has been found.
• Where the 'Year' is part of the 'Student Number' search the only records returned will be for the 'Year' if the 'M' cycle is open.
• Where only the 'Year' is part of the search, the program will return 'ALL' students with 'ALL' subjects if the 'M' cycle is open.
• Where the search is on a specific year and subject, all the students for that specific year and subject will be returned.
• A search cannot be done for a single subject / offering type combination, the year in this scenario is mandatory.
• If a query is done on the 'Offering Type', the user must at least enter values for the year and the subject to be able to use the LOV.

The 'Half Year Mark' and 'Attendance' factor of a student may be entered here. This factor is not taken into account in the calculation of 'Half Period Marks' or 'Full Period Marks', but is printed on the progress report under option {SSTUR2-21}.
