Import Retirement Fund Member’s Structure {FPRI-17}

Retirement Fund Tax Harmonisation was introduced with effect from 01-Mar-2016 and is applicable to South African clients only.

Please Note: This Menu Option can also be accessed from {PAOP-12}

This option may be used to load the Retirement Fund Component, Category, Factor, the Effective and End Date into the Retirement Fund Member’s Structure {PAOP-10} or {FPRI-15} for employees who belong to a Retirement Fund {PAOP-4} and {PAOP-5} and whose membership details display on {PAOP-10} or {FPRI-15}, from a comma delimited file.

This is particularly useful when there is bulk change to member’s Retirement Funding Components, Categories and /or Factors. The existing information may be exported from Retirement Fund Member’s Structure {PAOP-10} or {FPRI-15} using {PAOP-11} or {FPRI-16}, updated in Excel, converted to a csv file and then imported using this Menu Option, to ease the burden of manual capturing.

Layout of the comma delimited file

The file should not have column headings.
Each record for each Employee /Fund Code should be on a single row.
The columns, in order, of the comma delimited file is detailed below

Processing Rules
1	The entire file that is being Imported is validated. If any errors are found, an Error Report is generated and no Import of data is done. The user must correct the errors and then Import again.
2	In order to Import a record for an Employee, the Employee must belong to a Retirement Fund that has been defined on either {PAOP-4} or {PAOP-5} and the Retirement Fund Start Date and /or the Retirement Fund End Date must fall within the membership period.
3	The records in the file being imported are validated to the existing records, records with overlapping dates are reported as errors. The following rules apply: Where the Retirement Fund Start Date of the existing record equals the Retirement Fund Start date of the record being imported and the End Dates are null The record being imported, will update the existing record Where the Retirement Fund Start Dates differ and the End Date is null The Retirement Fund Start Date of the record being imported must be greater than the Retirement Fund Start Date of the existing record. A Retirement Fund End Date (new Start Date minus 1) will be inserted into the existing record and the new record will be created. Where the Retirement Fund End Date is not null The Retirement Fund Start Date of the record being imported must be greater than the existing record.
4	Data in the file will be validated for the following: The file layout is correct The employee belongs to a Retirement Fund that has been defined on either {PAOP-4} or {PAOP-5} Duplicate records Records with overlapping dates
5	Multiple records may exist in the file for the same Employee for multiple Funds.
