Student Confirmation of Exams {SSTUD1-6}

This menu option is used to update examination and activity details on a student's subject record for a specific examination year and month combination and consists of 5 blocks.

Fields in this option:

Block 1: Student Control

This block is used to indicate if a student will attend the examination for a specific subject (Y)es / (N)o and if the postal code was linked to a centre for the default activity. This will be displayed upon, the updating of the attendance field.

Field	Type & Length	Description
Exam Year	YYYY	Enter the Examination Year. Block 2: The student's address information is displayed. The postal code of the address linked to Address Reference Type Code ‘P’ will be used to link the student to an Exam Centre on block 4 or 6, provided that the centre / activity / postal code combination for the specific year exists on {SDSERC-4b3}.
Exam Month	N2	Enter the Exam Month.
Student Number	N9	Enter the Student Number.
Title	A5	This information will default from the biographical information.
Initials	A6	This information will default from the biographical information.
Surname	A30	This information will default from the biographical information.
Identity Number	A13	This information will default from the biographical information.
Externally Assessed Standard Only	A1	When Button 'Externally Assessed Standard Only' is set to (Y)es, the field 'Activity Code' is not Mandatory. When Button 'Externally Assessed Standard Only' is set to (No), the 'Activity Code' field is Mandatory.
Activity Code	A4	The default activity code linked to activity type ‘E’ will be displayed and will be used to select the service centre (exam centre) from the Service Centre Sub-system Structure {SDSERC-3}. Biographical information of the student is displayed.

Block 2: Registration Records

When Button 'Externally Assessed Standard Only' in block 1 is set to (Y)es, the query will display only subjects linked to an External Standards were the Standard Assessment Method is (E)xternally {SACAD-18} and Standard Type is not NULL {SACADO-10}.

When Button 'Externally Assessed Standard Only' is set to (No), the query will display all the registered subjects of the student.

The following will default from the information entered on the previous block:
Subject	A7	Display the subject Code.
Year	YYYY	Display the registration year of the subject.
Mth	N2	Display the registration month of the subject.
Exam Day	N3	Display day of the examination.
Exam Date	DD-MON-YYYY	Display examination date.
Ses	A2	Display the Session of the examination.
Paper	N2	Display the examination Paper e.g. paper 1 or paper 2.
Activity	A4
Cancel/Exempt	A1
The following fields can be updated:
Attendance	A1	To indicate if the student will attend the exam.
Centre	A6	The exam centre to which the student must be linked.
Reason Code	A2	Valid reason for the change of activity. Reason codes linked to indicator 'T' as defined on {SCODE-33} will not be allowed.

Block 3: Student Confirmation for Exams

Field	Type & Length	Description
Update Service Centre/Activity Code	A1	If Update Service Centre / Activity Codes (Y)es/(N)o is ‘Y’ the cursor will be moved to block 5 to allow for changes to be made. The Activity information may be changed to any other valid centre for this specific examination year. The Service Centre option {SDSERI-1} will display all the information for a calendar year. If a subject is cancelled / exempted no changes can be done. The information displayed will be sorted per student, per year descending, per activity, qualification code and Subject Code.
Validation for Exam Timetable	A1	This is used to do an exam timetable validation.
		If the user wishes to update activities per batch, there is an option available in the Service Centre Sub-system {SDSERI-2}, provided that the centre / activity / postal code combination for the specific year exists on {SDSERC-4}, TAB - Service Centre Detail.
