Auto Promotion Of Students {SSTUD4-9}

This option is used to admit students automatically to the next period of study. Application records for the next period of study will be created for students if they do not already exist and if the students will be admitted on {SNAPPA-3}.

The following set-ups are required to run this option:

“Auto Progress” should be set to "Y" {SSTUDD-2} Criteria per Period of Study.
A Census Record for the year to which the students should be promoted must exist on {GOPS-1}.
The Academic Structure must exist for the year to which the student will be promoted to.
The event codes P1 and P2 must be linked to applicable admission status codes in {SCAO1-6}

	The admission status allocated to the student is determined by the statuses linked to the event code P1 and P2 as defined in {SCAO1-6} The event codes are allocated as follows: P1: If there are still places left in the quota, the student application record will be created with event code P1 and the linked admission status. If the quota is full but there are still students who have the same mark as the last student admitted, a student application record will be created with event code P1 and the linked admission status. P2: If the quota is full, the student application record will be created with event code P2 and the linked admission status. Please note that a quota field this is NULL (i.e. is blank) will implicate unlimited places available.
