Enter Secondary Assessment Marks {SSTUD1-3}


This option may be used to ensure the correctness of marks entered in the previous option. In the 'Search' panel box the user must specify the same selection criteria as in {SSTUD1‑2}.



The same rules and validations apply as in option {SSTUD1-2}.


Note: 


If the assessment is marked as 'Type of Evaluation'

Using function “SREC” under option {SMNT-5} can control access to this option. This makes it possible to limit access to the updating of marks in respect of one person to one Faculty or Department, and Campus only. Campus restriction is non-mandatory.

The program will display the records for students that comply with these selection criteria.

Note: Please note that the secondary marks are stored in the same table as the primary marks and therefore the option {SSTUD1-24} – ‘Purge Secondary Marks’ - has been discontinued since V13.

Assessment mark N3 The mark that the student has obtained is entered here.

If the Assessment is marked as 'Type of Evaluation'
  • 'O', the mark can be entered.
  • 'C’, this field will be disabled and the user will not be able to enter a mark in this field. 
  • 'P’, this field will be disabled and the user will not be able to enter a mark in this field. 
The validation 'VC' - 'On-Line Validations of Marks' on {SMNT-1} determines the behaviour of the program:
  • If VC = 'N' the program will display the message 'Warning: Assessment mark differs from mark entered here or Assessment Mark is NULL' and the user can continue entering the rest of the student's marks. The report 'Assessment Mark Verification in {SSTUD1-23} can be used afterwards to determine discrepancies in the primary and secondary marks.
  • If 'VC' = 'Y' the program will display the message 'Error: Assessment mark differs from mark entered here or Assessment Mark is NULL' and in this instance, the user will have to correct the mark entered i.e. either correct the mark in this screen if it was incorrectly entered or correct the primary mark on {SSTUD1-7} before the rest of the student's secondary marks can be entered.
Assessement Result Code
 A2
 If  Assessment is marked as 'Type of Evaluation = 'C' and 'P' in {SSTUD3-7 - 'Assessment Mark Criteria' Tab} only the result code can be entered. 

The result for
  • 'Type of Evaluation' = 'C' will display in the LOV from {SSTUD3-1} and for
  • 'Type of Evaluation' = 'P' only results that are linked to the Rubric as defined in {SSTUD3-7}, TAB - Assessment Marks Result Criteria will be used to determine the result codes that has been linked to the Rubric on {SSTUD3-26b2}.
The validation 'VC' will have the same effect when only entering results for 'Professional Judgment' and 'Competency Based' evaluation.
