Overview of Mentor / Tutor Bundle Claims {FPRI-28}

The ITS Student Distance Education System allows users to track the assessment of assignments by personnel, using the concept of bundles.
In short, a “Bundle” of assignments submitted by students for a particular subject may be handed to a personnel member to assesS. The personnel member then hands the bundle back once the assessment is done and the marks (or results) are captured in the Student System.

This system will generate salary claims based on bundles assessed by a personnel member.

Process to Generate Bundle Claims

In summary, the process is as follows:
  1. Student should have been registered against Subjects.
  2. Create Personnel Contract Information in the Personnel / Activity Information {SDSERP-1} for the applicable Subjects / Year / Block. Combinations.
  3. If default tariffs will be used for the contracts, enter the defaults in the Default Tariff Detail {SDSERP-2}.
  4. Create Bundles {TASKS-1} and link the students to the Bundles in block 2 of Create Bundles {TASKS1-1}.
  5. As students submit assigments, enter a Date returned for each assignment in Maintain Returned Assignments {TASKS1-4}.
  6. Enter a Date Out for each Bundle in Create Bundles {TASKS1-1}, as it is forwarded to the Personnel Member to assess.
  7. Enter a Date In for each Bundle in Enter Assignment Marks {TASKS1-2} when the Personnel Member hands back the assessed assignments back
  8. Different personnel members may be assigned responsibility to assess (mark) different questions in a particular Assignment and Exam Paper. The Bundle may thus be assigned to more than one personnel member, together with an indication of the Question numbers assigned to each personnel member. This is done using Maintain Assessment Questions {TASKS1-31}. The percentage of the Fee for the Bundle, applicable to the particular question may be indicated here.
  9. Enter the Assignment Marks for each student.
  10. Generate the claims with Generate Bundle Claims {FPRIM-2} or {FPRCPB-2}.
  11. Approve the Claims with Maintain Bundle Claims {FPRIM-1} or {FPRCPB-1}.
  12. Copy the claims to the Individual Earnings / Deductions {FPRI-2} with Copy Bundle Claims to Payroll {FPRIM-4} or {FPRCPB-4}.
A facility to Rollback Bundle Claims {FPRIM-5} that were copied to Individual Earnings / Deductions {FPRI-2} is available.
