Advert Design {PERC-2}


This option is used to Create and Maintain the contents of the Advert that is to be displayed on eRecruitment.

 

An advert may be designed with the functionality below or a manual advert may be uploaded in {PERO-1}.  

 

Hint: While creating the Advert Design, if the system administrator want to see what an advert will look like, without creating an application, log in to the eRecruitment Web Application for Vacant Positions page with email address "checkquestions@erecruitment.edu", PIN 12345

 

Functionality exists for Adverts to be displayed to internal applicants only, i.e. applicants who are currently employed by the institution and are in service.  To use this functionality, ‘Internal’ must be defined as the 1st word in the Advert Code Description field. By using this functionality, the Advert will only be displayed and visible for internal applicants to apply for the position; External Applicants will not see or be aware of the Advert posted on eRecruitment.


Advert Design may be used to define the requirements in a Job Advertisement that is displayed on eRecruitment.
A Post code MUST be created first {PPEO-1} before the advert can be designed.
If an active Job Profile exists for the Post Code and the Grade/s is entered in the Job Implementation Panel Box, all details defined in the Job Profile per Grade will be populated into the Advert contents. These details may be edited by inserting, updating or deleting as applicable to the contents of the Advert required.

Select whether this advert can be displayed on eRecruitment or whether it should only be a Manual Advert.
Advert Design Code  A10 A code that represent the Adverts Design. Mandatory. User Defined.

In order to auto generate the Advert design, indicator 'EA' in {GOPS-22} must be set to 'Y'. Generating a numeric value only selecting the highest value from the 'next eRecruitment advert code number' in {PRMT-3}  and increment it by 1.
The advert design code will also become non-Updateable, if it is auto generated.
Please note: If the advert design code is auto generated then the advert design code cannot be re-used for the next advert of the same post.
Post code  A8 Unique code to identify the Post {PPEO-1}. Choose from the LOV's
Once the Post code has been entered, the Campus, Faculty, Department, Rank, Senior, Post Classification will populate from the set up in {PPEO-1}
Inactive date D11 Inactive date (DD-MMM-YYYY).  Date from which the Advert Design Code may no longer be used.
Job Title A40 Job Title- User defined. A suitable title for the Advertised post.
Insert ‘Internal’ as the first word in the Advert Code, for the advert only to be displayed and visible to employees who are actively in service.

1st of 4 (Max) Grades
A2 Grades are defined on {PPJC-2}. A Grade is a grouping that encompasses positions with the same or similar values in order to assign compensation rates and structures . Choose from the LOV's.
A maximum of four Grades are allowed.
Job Profile Active date D11 From which date is the Job Profile Active (DD-MMM-YYYY).
Header Record
Line number N4 This is the format/Sequence your advert will be displayed in. You can create additional lines in this field that will allow for additional information that you wish to add.
Details This information is pulled from the Advert Design data that has been created.
Additional Information
Paragraph Number N5 Choose which paragraph on the On line Advert you wish to have this Additional Information in.
Advert Information code A4 Choose from the LOV's set up in {PERC-1}.
Details A400 Any Additional Information that you wish to add to the Advert.

Position Summary

This is used to clearly explain the obligations of the position so that the candidates have a clear picture of performance expectations. The functions should include level of importance, level of complexity, and all essential tasks
should be listed.

This is the job description of the Position Advertised in a summative paragraph, enabling the potential applicant to brief through the summary prior to reading the full vacancy.
This can be set up using a single grade definition that is applicable, alternatively it may be generic descriptions.

KPA Code Description Once the KPA Code has been chosen, the Description that has already been defined will populate.
KPA Details A256 The details entered here will represent the performance areas in the business that these groups of people will be responsible for.
Key Activity Number N4 These are the most important actions a company must perform to operate successfully. Key Activities need to be categorized efficiently in terms of their numbers.
Key Activity Code A4 Each Key Activity should have its unique code that is linked to a KPA code {PPJC-5}.
Key Activity Code Description Description of the Key Activity setup on {PPJC-5}
Key Activity Details A256 Elaboration on what the Key Activity Entails.
% Weighting (Time Taken) N20 The percentage of time taken to complete the activity.

Knowledge

This refers to the job related knowledge required for the position.

Skills

Job-specific skills are those abilities that allow a candidate for employment to excel in a particular job. Some skills are attained by attending school or training programs. Others can be acquired through experiential learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements

For each Qualification Number {PPJC-1} there is LOV for codes defined.

These should be basic qualifications that candidates must possess in order to be considered for the position. They must be closely related to the duties of the position, and must be necessary to successfully fulfill the essential 

functions of the position.

Certain Experience is necessary for Job Profile per Post and Grade and may be recorded in this option. For each Experience Number {PPJC-1} there is a LOV for Codes defined. Either predefined codes can be used or free text.

Processing
Rules
 
1. All mandatory fields must be captured, if not captured do not allow commit and display standard error message.
2. Post code must be setup {PPEO} before Designing an Advert.
3. Advert Generic Information {PERC-1} must be created before Designing an Advert.
4. Grades are to be defined on {PPJC} prior to attempting completing the grades information in this Menu Option.
5. All Codes to be set up on {PPJC} in order to proceed to the operational side.
