The facility is available to define study guide financial indicator codes. One of the functions of this indicator is to stop study guide issue if the student account is not settled to client specified levels.

The study guide financial indicator process is activated when the client/user set the validation control type FI Check value to Yes {SMNT-1}. If Check value is No then the rest of this operational process is switch off.

If activated the following maintains must be done and process will be in place:

Create Financial Indicator Code record/s

See Indicator rules below in par. fields in the option.
If the indicator is Yes, the student will be linked to it at registration or in option {SDGUIS-3} and have not further functions
If the indicator is No, bring student status in to play and that may result in the study guides not issued.

Registration of the qualification {SDREGA-1} will set the field Fin Ind Code field to mandatory. The user must enter a Financial Indicator Code as defined in this option. On commit of the qualification registration the system will do the following

If the financial indicator code has a status, and the status is not link to the student, the system will link the status to the student {FSAO-12}
Start the status validation process. If the status pass the validation process the system will remove the status.

The user can change the financial indicator code, linked during registration, in option {SDGUIS-3}
The program Issue Request (Postal List) {FPMO4-25} will not issue study material to the student that have a status that is linked to a financial indicator code and/or the student has a status that is linked to the action SG.
Status can be lifted with the following actions:

Run option {FSAO-24} Batch Update if Financial Statuses.
When payments is received in option {FCTO-3} or {FCBO-1}.
The user may remove then using option {FSAO-12}.

Field	Type & Length	Description
Code	A2	A user defined code for the type of student referring to the examples in the previous paragraph.
Description	A30	A description for the code created in the previous field.
Indicator	A1	Field rules are: No Financial Check Needed. Valid values for the field are (Y)es/(N)o, with the default “Y”. If the indicator is set to “Y” study material will be issued to the student regardless of the student’s financial situation. If set to “N” study material will only be issued when the student meets the financial requirements linked to the status in the next field.
Status	A4	Mandatory if the above indicator field is No. Only statuses define in option {FSAC-1} with the action action SG can be linked.
