Overview of the Post Establishment Structure {PMAIN-11}
This subsystem is used to
define and maintain the Post Establishment Structure in the ITS
Integrator Personnel System {HRM-1}.
- A "Post" refers to a position that is available to be filled by a
personnel member, or is currently held by a personnel member.
- The Post Establishment Structure describes how Posts fit into the
Organizational Structure.
- The Post Establishment Structure is a key element to the
functioning of the Personnel Appointment System {PMAIN-2},
the E-Recruitment System, the Payroll System {HRM-2} and the Salary
Budgeting System {HRM-3}.
- Post Structure can be used to control salary expenditure
- Personnel Members may be appointed only to Active Posts and
the System will validate that the number of concurrent incumbents per
Post do not exceed a maximum value indicated on the Post
- Self-Service, iEnabler Appointments can only be done against
the Posts flagged for the purpose and the will validate that Post
Funding {PPEO-4} is not exceeded.
- Some of the information recorded on the Post Establishment {PPEO-1} has a direct - or indirect influence on
Salary Calculations, refer to the fields for
- General Ledger Allocation
- Rank
- Appointment Type
- Pay Point
- The Salary Budgeting System {HRM-3}
may be used to forecast salary expenditure in respect of Vacant Posts,
in addition to forecasting salary expenditure for in-service Personnel
Members. This allows for planning at the level of posts rather than at
the level of incumbents. An example of the information that becomes available is the Budget per Department {MSBOPR-4}, showing the Budgetted Amounts, Spent Amounts and Available Amounts per Post within each Department.
