Alternative Entry of Exam Marks {SSTUD2-6}

This option provides an alternative way to enter examination marks and results.

It is assumed that the marks in the relevant examination papers are available and that the final mark has already been calculated outside this system. Upon entering this data, the system will check if the calculation of the final mark is correct.  It will also calculate and display the result. Only students that did not cancel and with exam admission ‘Y’ will be displayed.

If a student is linked to action code ‘UR’ or ‘QR’, the system will not allow the user to create or update subjects results {SREGL-2}.
  1. Enter the Exam Year, Examination Month, Campus Code, Offering Type, Subject Code and Exam Type in Block 1, <NEXT BLOCK> (the exam year and examination month cycle must be active under option {SSTUDY-1}, TAB - Academic Structure and Exams).
Note: The following fields are optional: Exam Type, Exam Group, Offering type and Campus Code. If any of these fields are left blank, a single list of students will be generated, regardless of their exam type, exam group, Offering Type and campus code link.  Otherwise a list will be generated for the specific combination as entered here. If more than one combination exists for this particular subject, a list must be generated for each if separate lists are required.
  1. All students that obtained examination admission for this exam will be displayed in Block 2 in student number sequence. The Full Period Mark (year mark) of each student will also be displayed.

  2. The cursor will be in the position for the Final Mark. If validation ‘CD’ is set to ‘Yes’, the cursor will be in the decimal field of the Final Mark. This mark, as calculated outside the system, is entered.  The Final mark may have a (N4) Value.

  3. Upon selecting <NEXT FIELD>, the cursor will move to the field for Examination Paper. The program will only allow you to insert / update the Exam Paper mark if the Paper Number exists on {SSTUDE-2}.

  4. When the appropriate number of paper marks has been entered, a <NEXT RECORD> is entered. The system will now:
  1. When these records are <COMMIT>ted, the marks are written to the database. These records can later be seen or amended under option {SSTUDM-1}  / {SSTUDM-2}.

  2. When the user <EXIT>s from this option, the question “Do you wish to update the results of students not admitted to the exam?” will be displayed. If  (Y)es is entered, the examination results of all students in the particular group who did not gain examination admission, will be set to “FA” - “Fail, no admission to exam”.
  3. If the paper criteria on {SSTUDE-2}, exceed the number of papers for which marks are entered, the final mark will be cleared on <COMMIT> and the student will obtain the Default Result code, as defined on {SSTUD3-1}.
