Subjects for which a student was registered (i.e. had not cancelled) on or before the relevant block’s census dates.

The Registration Year {SSTUDY-21b3} must be equal to the Calendar Year for SAPSE Reports specified in the table sequence 2 record of the STATS Control File {STMNT-1}
The enrolment type {SCODE2-2b1} of the examination type, indicated by “Type” in {SSTUDY-21b3p1} must be “BOTH (B)”. (This is used when the program that sets the STATS indicator {SREGS-6} is executed)

Only subjects passed {SSTUDY-21b3}, i.e. the examination result code {SCODE-23} must lead to a “Pass”.
The examination year, examination month combination must be between the Start and End Year, Month combination as specified in the table sequence 2 record of the STATS Control File {STMNT-1} by the “Retrieve data from” fields.

Note that “Research” Qualification Types (8, 9, 13, 14 for Technikons and 9, 10 for Universities) {SACADO-1} usually have a component “research subjects” and dissertations.

“Research Subjects” are subjects where the institution type {GCS-2} is University and the course level {SACADO-1} is 8 or 10: or where the institution type {GCS-2} is Technikon and the course level {SACADO-10} 10, 11, 14, 15.

The user is advised to use result code “FC”, (“Continue”) in cases where the student has not yet completed the “research subject” at the end of the SAPSE reporting cycle.

In the year in which a student with research subjects is awarded his/her qualification, there should be a “Pass” result code for the research subject. Instead of the nominal STATS credit {SACADO-17} divided by the 2% factor, the Minimum Research Time {SACADO-1} of the Approved Qualification is used for tables 2.11 and 2.21. Note that this field should not be more than the “minimum formal time” field.

Table 2.10 and 2.20 - the average between Tables 2.9 and 2.11, and 2.19 and 2.21, respectively.

Program Logic:
Subject credits are accumulated and an audit trail is produced for later printing via option {STP2A-4}, “Print Audit Trail for 2.9, 2.19 or 2.18”.
