Auto Progression of Students {SSTUDP-17}

This option is used to create an application for the same or next study period using configurable Processes, Stages and Rules.

• This process can start when the results of the students are available.
• All active Promotion rules that are linked to active stages on {SSTUDP-16} are executed.
• Each Promotion Rule that is linked may require specific set ups to operate, Examples are
  
• The “Auto Progress” should be set up in {SSTUDD-2} Criteria per Period of Study.
• Result Code indicators should be set up in {SCODE-23}.  Specify if the result code
  
• allows promotion to the same or different qualification.
• allows promotion to the same or next study period.
  
• Period of Study sequences should be set up in {SCODE-30}.
• The "Pre-requisites" qualifications should be set up  in {SACADO-6}.
• A Census Record for the year and block code to which the students should be promoted must exist on {GOPS-1}.
• The Academic Structure must exist for the year to which the student will be promoted to.
• Event codes must be linked to applicable admission status codes in {SCAO1-6}.
• Set QU validation on {SMNT-1} to determine if quota should be checked (Y) or not (N) on {SACADO-5}
• The Progression Validation Process is only executed when rule Z604 is linked to the Auto Promotion Process (PROG), and executes all active Progression Rules that are linked to {SSTUDP-11}.
• The process will terminate when a rule linked to a stage marked as terminate on {SSTUDP-14} fails.
• When this program is run in Trial it will not update or create any application detail, but validation / logging detail will be logged on {SSTUDP-18}.
  
• A user can re-run the process.  When the process is re-run:
  
  • Detail information for all rules are cleared from {SSTUDP-18}
    
  • All rules will be checked again.
  • Make sure applications already created statuses are reset.
  • Duplicate applications (for the same Qualification and Study period) will not be created. Example:
    When applications were created for students with failed results and the students passed the supplementary exam, re-run the auto-progression to create applications based on the passed result. Make sure the rule Z605 – CANCEL_EXTRA_IER is linked to the last Stage Code.
• For an application to be cancelled:
  • The Qualification,Offering type and Block code must be the same
  • The choice must be < choice of the next Study Period
  • The study periods must not be the same as the next Study Period
